Big Sun Scholarship
With the love of sports rapidly growing within me from a young age, one of my fondest memories is, standing in the front lawn of my grandfathers house in town barefooted with no idea that I was about to learn one of my favorite things to do, pitch. Mit in hand ball in the other I took instructions from my grandfather who was crouched down 36 ft away. With cars passing by and my pitches going all over my grandfather stayed there never giving up on me. I can’t remember a time I wasn’t playing sports. Sports have allowed myself to develop such strong relationships with my family. Not only that but it has taught me to always pursue my goals no matter the obstacles in my way, this is something I will take on with me to college, my career, and just to continue to do so throughout my life. Growing close to my family has been one of the biggest most beneficial factors of playing sports. For example my family is the reason that I have gotten where I am today with sports, they’re the ones driving me to and from practices. The ones that I look out into the stand and see my biggest fans. Those long drives home from events where we talk over every play of the game. Above all doing bad or good they always support me. Sports have taught me personally never stop no matter what obstacles are in my way. This life skill I will carry with myself for the rest I my life, into college where I will pursue a career no matter the classes or “bumps in the road.” I know I will achieve my goals. I will have to use this skill a considerable amount because by career goal is becoming an orthodontist, which is no simple task. With years of schooling ahead of me there will be things stopping me but I will never give up. It does not stop there though I will continue to not let anything get within my way and do the best at my job I possibly
