For me, this is the optimal learning environment. The atmosphere of collaboration exuded by Yale’s academics is paralleled in the program’s research opportunities. This conception of medicine is one in which I aim to embed my own practice. Yale’s dedication to the human side of medicine is reflected in its dedication to diversity; the program’s acceptance of medical students from a variety of backgrounds echoes this stance. Having an environment in which I can interact with ethnically diverse colleagues, take courses at other Yale schools, and participate in cultural programs sets Yale apart as a well-rounded program that not only better prepares me professionally, but also enhances my cultural competency.
