The summer before my senior year in high school was a turning point in my life because it was the first time I realized I wanted to live in Israel. My whole life my parent had raised me, and my five younger siblings to love and support Israel but I could never actually picture myself here. That summer I went to Israel on a Bnei Akiva summer program and for the first time I could actually picture myself in Israel. I spent the summer living on Kibbutz Migdal Oz, volunteering in the Jerusalem Forest, and taking unique trips to volunteer in different communities around Israel. Volunteering in Israel really made me feel connected to people in this country on a much deeper level. I realized that summer that Israel could be my home one day soon. When I was two years old I lived in Israel for a year with my parents. Both of my parents have always been huge Zionists and always dreamed of making aliyah. I decided to study geography and environment at university because of my love for the land and for its people. After I finish my first degree I plan on studying nursing so I can combine my love for people with my interest in health. I believe that the environment and our habitats greatly affect our health. I would one day love to work in public health and help solve big picture health problems in this country and around the world. Living in Israel I have accomplished some of biggest dreams and I hope to accomplish much more. One day I would love to travel to third world countries as a nurse and environmentalist in order to help those who have been affected by natural disasters. Israel is always a leader and activist in the world during time of need and I wish to one day be a representative of this.
