Completing the role as a school administrator intern is a powerful learning experience, which consisted of developing skills to provide professional leadership to organize, administer, and support for a creative school program. It was a privilege to complete my internship at The Bonnie Springer School and assigned to a school administrator mentor who identifies school success as a critical component ensuring all students achieve academic success along with completing college and career-readiness standards. During this process, I have systematized and assembled teacher handbooks and a high school program-planning guide to communicate the school’s vision, mission, and goals. The teacher handbooks contained various strategies, policies, and resourceful forms for the teachers. The high school program-planning guide is a great tool to help students plan and organize their academic schedule. Both books are very resourceful and serves as a benefit for both teachers and students. The Bonnie Springer School’s mission is to create a school environment, which acknowledges the strengths and needs of each student and providing them an opportunity to learn. Our school has a wide variety of learners and a host of teachers as a result; the teacher handbook and the high school program-planning guide are great resources to meet the need of students and teachers. As a future school administrator, Standard 1 is a strength for me. I have a passion for academic success for all students and I feel it is important for me to continue to develop skills in this area to foster success. An area I will continue to improve on with my vision is working with colleagues and teachers. As I reflect, I did not spend much time involving colleagues and teachers with the decision making process. In the future, I plan to involve them more in sharing the vision and even have them help make decisions where the vision is
