As a proud member of the MTV generation, I have been a part of some amazing things. From the non stop rise rise in technology to the world becoming a smaller place because of snap chat and instagram. I am also, like all of us, a part of ticking time bomb called the recession. Being laid-off two times since 2007 (the last recession) I am trying to figure out what is my best vehicle for stability in the future. Is it pursuing my career as a fuel truck driver or getting my bachelor’s degree?

These elements are a recipe for accidents. Accidents are a major fear for drivers, companies and pedestrians. Studies have shown that driving for 4 hours doubles the chance of accidents and these odds increase to ten times after 8 hours of driving. Drivers must comply to the driver’s hour regulatory requirements. As a truck driver it is imperative to always be aware of your physical and mental limitations and your surroundings, because of how quickly it changes. As tractor-trailer driver, you are constantly watching for cars and smaller trucks "shooting gaps" to get in front of you (York, 2000). Traffic jams are the most tense for any commercial driver. The combination on the weight of the load, the longer stopping distance, and cars taking advantage of slower traffic can lead to horrible accidents. These accidents more times than not end up with the truck driver slightly but the passenger of the car fatally injured. Even though the truck driver may live, he or she will carry that guilt with them for the rest of their lives and possibly criminal
