As we all get older and we continue to change, there is one thing that most of us avoid talking about, death. Death is a time of life that each of us will experience, whether it is at a young age or at an older age we all die at some point. However, it is the times before death that people as medical professionals will see the most. Eventually, I hope to become an occupational therapist. One thing that I found to be useful was the topic back in chapter one of longitudinal designed study where “participants are studied repeatedly and changes are noted as they get older” (Berk 2010, p. 28). This will be useful in my future career because most of the people I will be working with I will be seeing and helping over a long period of time, so by using this kind of a design I will be able to track their progress over our time together which could be for several years. This is discussed in chapter 7 and I find that this is important in my line of work because most skills that we use everyday are because we have fine-motor skills, therefore when they are not developed, it makes it harder for those children to learn so in order to help them succeed I can help them gain these skills using everyday activities like drawing and writing to help them get on the right track in learning and
