Art has had the greatest impact on my life that now I can see everything in existence as art. Brandon Boyd said “art is everywhere; and everywhere is art “. Part of art is experiencing and paying attention to the world. There is a creative response behind each and everything that exists. Viewing the world in it's artistic nature makes me appreciate things we can see, as it makes life more interesting and less mundane.
A level sociology has assisted me in recognising the effect art has on society by instilling values and changing opinions; in which art can be used as a form of protest to bring about social change, this is shown by street artist Bansky who’s work is now in galleries, despite the conventions of upper-middle class art at the time …show more content…

Helping children develop their artistic capabilities motivated me to improve my own art. During my work experience I had the privilege to work in Briarvale care home where I engaged in activities, such as colouring in and knitting with elders who have learning and other disabilities. This experience showed me the value art has on ones life, used as a sort of therapeutic distraction to promote well being. I currently volunteer in the humanities department mentoring psychology AS students with their studies. This has benefited me in a sense of fulfilment and personal growth by gaining independence and increasing my communication skills. Through supporting at open evening, I have worked with staff and developed my organisation skills; planning, preparing and delivering pedagogical knowledge about art as a subject to a wide range of people. Whilst guiding students through creative skills in a school Art Christmas Competition, I learnt leadership and time management skills due to the time constraints of the competition. This also gave me the confidence to help others to keep to their deadlines by providing them with ways to increase their progression and work
