It was 3:30 in the morning when our plane finally landed in Santo Domingo and I had just witnessed the scariest plane flight of my life. Along with the scariest flight in my life it had been the longest day in my life. I had been up for 22 hours straight, waiting and riding on plane flights that constantly got delayed or pushed back along with excruciating long car rides. Our mission team stayed the night at some nice hotel and in the morning we would take off for San Juan De La Maguana where we would stay the rest of the week. That morning we woke up extremely early and trudged into the elevators down to the lobby.
Ever since I can remember, my father, Edgar Espino, had is little construction business. That is until he slowly it all. My father couldn’t manage and maintain a business on his own due to his limited education. This impacted my life drastically because as my father lost everything so did the whole family. We went from having a house, cars, and plenty of food to living with family members who took us in and barely having enough money for food.

The three major leadership traits found in the reading was loyalty, dependability, and courage. Rowan was loyal, the way he accepted the mission without any problems. Mission to carry the message to Garcia was assigned to Rowan because he was reliable to perform this mission. Rowan showed courage by accepting the mission during dangerous time of war between Spain and the United States.

My most rewarding accomplishment consists of my ability to overcome the fear and weakness that was conceived upon my arrival to the United States from Mexico, in addition to a newly evolved character which allowed me to achieve academic, professional, and personal success. Nearly seven years ago, my mother and I immigrated from a harsh economic climate in Mexico that was plagued with unemployment. Additionally, our family faced bankruptcy. While holding onto our faith, we left our hometown with only what we could carry and bought two one-way bus tickets. With nothing more than fear, two bags, and $50 in each of our pockets, we set out for what would be the most challenging journey of our lives.
