Starting from age of 13, I have been practicing music with well-known masters. As a matter of fact, when I was in high school my focus was more on music and sports rather than on my education. However, I started to like computer programming while I started my associate degree and that was a turning point for me to get motivated to continue my education and earn my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
I have always loved music and that was the reason to relate computer programming and new technologies to music. For instance, the final project of my Associate degree was “Designing a website for teaching music instruments”, and the title of my master’s thesis was “Music E-Learning”.
After graduation, I have been teaching Computer Science courses

After graduating from University in Master degree, I decided to develop some advanced software for teaching music. However, after spending a while and some attempt, I realized that I require expanding my knowledge concerning musical signal processing, and for doing this I should focus on this subject and research on it full-time for several years. Thus, I decided to continue my education in this field in order to have a research opportunity to study on this subject.
Finding Dr. Joseph Timoney as one of the well-known experts in musical signal processing, who has written numerous papers on this subject, makes me believe that he is the best one to supervise me. Furthermore, since there are some other students and experts in music technology in the research group of Dr. Timoney, it is a proper site to cooperate with other people.
In addition, having the Music major at Maynooth University, especially the Music Technology field, motivate me more to study there; because it gives me an opportunity to achieve advice from music technologist. Adding to these, since during the conducting my research, we may probably require some music voluntaries to assist us to evaluate our algorithms and software, the existence of the music major in this university can make it
