Personal Statement I am applying for this course, because I want to help people and bring new ideas to our health care systems. Getting a Master of Science in Global Health and Sustainable Development, I believe will give me the opportunity to not only bring me closer to my career aspirations but also to gain more knowledge on sustainability and global health. Throughout my undergraduate degree I studied biology and some course work in sustainability and nature and learned a lot about the world how it works and how to preserve it. I have some but not a lot experience with excel and statistics, during my years in undergrad I did my own research project with the university and the fish lab I experimented on the boldness in correlation with egg size of native brook trout I used Noldus Ethovision XT14 is the most widely applied video tracking software that tracks and analyzes the behavior, movement, and activity of any animal. That can track a video and take data like speed, velocity, and tracks time spent in parts of the picture and along with other things. Extracting and plotting my own experiment data was my favorite part of my undergraduate research it was really cool to visualize the numbers and come to a conclusion. Another experience in college in which got me too open my mind to getting into a career in epidemiology. In biology 112 we studied prions and viruses, which really intrigued my interest in dieses an how fast and easy they can spread also made me aware of how I can help. Getting a masters in global health can help me not only advance my career but also advance my knowledge in statistic tools and other data retrieving methods, also I want to learn python to get some background in coding because I believe it will help me in …show more content…

For about one of those years I have been working at IU health working in public health which has lead me to finding my calling of public health and the want to help people. It’s also opened my mind to the process and maintenance of how the hospital is ran and how it continues to run. While working with IU health although as I stated I don’t work directly with patients my work is still a direct influence on the patients’ health and the hospitals success. This experience for this past year has made me resize how much I love and appreciate working in public and helping people in either direct or indirect ways which is one of the main reasons I’m applying for a master in Global
