NHS Personal Statement If I am accepted into National Honor Society, I believe I can make a lasting positive impact on the organization. With my academic aptitude, strong work ethic, and positive attitude, I know I can greatly benefit both the society and others outside of the society. I chose Research College of nursing Accelerated BSN Program because of the reputation Research has for training skilled, well prepared nurses. I am sure that if given the opportunity, I will excel in this program, as well as in the nursing field. I'm passionate about nursing and I have a lot that I can offer the healthcare field. Combined with naturally caring, I'm highly enthused, gifted, and work well in high stress atmospheres. My desire for this career field is a big stimulus for me, and I am devoted to prosper in it.
The National Honor Society (NHS) stands by such values as Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and character; it is these values that I strive to live by. I have received the opportunity to become a proud member of the NHS, and have been humbled by this chance. Throughout my high school career I try to be involved in anything I can help the school, from being a part of community service activities. Also, I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I possibly can to stand out among my peers. Even outside of school I have worked to uphold the values of club, and shall continue to do so if I chosen.
Andi Wallick Personal Statement Indiana University School of Medicine Degree Objective: M.S. Pathologists’ Assistant My interest in pathology dates back to high school. I enjoyed most sciences but especially sciences about the body. I knew then that I wanted to work in the field of pathology.
These people were shipped from their home, to a mostly undeveloped continent, ninety-five thousand miles from their homes. Many would never see their homes again.

(250 words or less) * Growing up, I saw my father come home after a long day of working in the fields with sweat on his face, and weaknesses in his bones. The worst days were the ones where he would feel sharp excruciating pain in his knees, and there was nothing he could do about it, other than to endure it. Although I was little, it was in that moment that I knew what I wanted to do in my life. Seeing my parents unable to have or afford healthcare inspired me to pursue a career in medicine, at a young age, I immediately started planning on opening my own hospital and offering health care for those who cannot afford it.
As I near my final semesters at NDSU and look towards graduate school I can’t help but try and summarize my time here. I have learned so much about my passion for design and the potential I have to do great things thanks to the education NDSU has provided me. In truth I have never really lived the “real college experience” because that is not what I want to remember when I look back at my collegiate experience. I don’t want to remember the parties I went to, I want to remember the late nights spent in studio chasing a design, the hours spent with my friends and peers working through architecture problems, and the connections I’ve made with faculty members in the architecture department who’ve become almost a second family. I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
My decision to pursue a career in the medical field all began when I was a little girl in Vietnam. My aunt brought me alone with her to a blind orphanage where she quotidian volunteered. When we arrived, I realized that this wasn’t just an institution for blind orphans but rather a shelter for all aspect of illness and disabilities. I saunter around and for the first time I became aware of how little others had and how fortunate I was. The volunteers tried their best to provide everyone’s exigency but the institution just didn’t have enough funds to provide enough for everyone.
I would like to pursue a combined MD/PhD program because I want to perform and apply research to the treatment of patients. The MD program alone would give me the opportunity to treat patients, but my strong desire to study the mechanisms of disease would be better satisfied with a degree that allows me to do both clinical and lab work interchangeably. I am willing to make the personal sacrifices necessary to acquire this education, and I believe my path from a small rural school to where I am now, as well as my performance and dedication throughout, demonstrates my ability to handle the load. Through this dual program, I could serve small communities like my own while contributing to the overall understanding of the mechanisms of disease or the function of the human body. I can help progress both patient care and, hopefully, humanity as a whole.
