Death Systems are the attitudes and practices societies set in place in order to provide structure and allow societies to distance from death (Corr 71). Some objects and phrases like skull and crossbones, crows, and “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust…” are also used to symbolize death. Funeral homes, cemeteries, Day of the Dead, Memorial Day, Halloween, etc. are all places and occasions that are closely related to death. The Death Sys-tem has many functions; it isn’t in place just to ritualize death or to dispose of the dead; it was also put

Single Parent to Graduate Student Enrolling in Northcentral University, NCU to obtain my graduate degree in education is one of accomplishment and a new beginning to a new career. I have always had a passion for indifference, injustice, and making a difference. I have an associate’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in Human and Family Services. I went from having a degree in computer science to a human service degree because of a family tragedy that made me evaluate my purpose in life as an individual. I am currently a case manager with a mental health/mental retardation organization and a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.
As I begin my college education, I want to continue doing my best in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a registered nurse. With the scholarship money I can have the peace of mind of solemnly focusing on college. Students who have to work to continue their education have trouble focusing on school and do not have the extra time to study or go to tutoring sessions. In many cases, having to work while attending college usually leads to failing or dropping the class due to extra stress and the idea of income. As well, this scholarship will give me more time to focus on my education and to continue my volunteer work helping the

Medical college personal statement writing without a reasonable topics and structure won't pull your reader in; it will exhaust them and push them away. Medical college personal statement writing don't drift endlessly hopping starting with one subject then onto the next. Rather, they revolve their personal statement writing around one focal topic. Generally the students decide to utilizetheir personal involvement in medical field or a story as their topic. I deserve this scholarship because of the ways in which this scholarship will enable me to continue and better my life-long goal to become a pediatric nurse. I plan to attend the college of my dreams, Texas Woman’s University. Before attending, I will need to receive money to keep me on the right track, but I have financial issues. I have two brothers already in college and I am the last and only one left. Because I have two brothers in college, it means less money for me.

I believe that I am qualified to receive a scholarship because I have worked hard throughout my high school life to keep my grades high and to volunteer as much as I could. I am a very active member in NHS and PHP at my school, and I look for many opportunities in order to participate more in community service. Working with the community and the people around me has helped me tremendously with becoming more of a leader and being more willing to share ideas that I may have. I believe that a scholarship will push me even further towards my psychology degree and my dreams of someday being able to help others through my career.
Personal Statement As a woman with an unyielding curiosity towards our world, coupled with an immense academic passion, I always have been driven to unlock the potential of both myself and that of the world in any way that I can. Resulting from my three years as a student in the School of International Service (SIS) and studying abroad in Brussels, Belgium and Nairobi, Kenya, I have developed a far more comprehensive understanding of how governments operate, as well as their role on the global landscape. I have been able to witness first-hand the impact of governments on the opportunities and quality of life in its citizens. I have seen what happens when the people at the “top" hold no regard for those at the “bottom”, such as in Kenya where
PERSONAL STATEMENT Arjun Balasubramanian | UM-ID: 06824428 Computer Science & Engineering M.S. Fall 2018 Growing up in India has been an enriching experience; my interactions with people from different cultures and ideologies have broadened my perspective and allowed me to view things in different ways. Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, the founder of my high school had once made a very powerful statement - “Youth are not useless, but they are used less.” This statement has been having a resonating impact on me since high school. During my senior year at NIT Trichy, I had conceptualized the idea of a “Youth Summit” that would allow young engineers to discuss and ideate on progressive themes.

I aspire to make a huge impact in patients’ lives as a caring, compassionate nurse, giving them the support they need for a better recovery. I would appreciate and be grateful for this scholarship because it would help me focus more on my school work, reduce my stress over financial concerns, and carry on my family’s tradition of independently working my way through college without financial assistance from my parents. I look forward to working in a solid, lifelong career with constant excitement and challenges, and where learning something new every day is the
