Considering my age, it would be very difficult to believe that I would really want to join college. However, two factors largely alleviate my interest in having a degree. Firstly, I enjoy school. It keeps one busy, provides an array of materials to read and widen one’s knowledge, and is a platform to meet different and unique people. Secondly, having two sons who are inquisitive about college challenges me to really get a degree, and actually be an example to them. That is, when I tell them all about college, it would be from my own experience. Again, I will be their role model as my own degree and experience will motivate them to achieve their own. Considering I dream of becoming a teacher or a counselor, going to school is inevitable. Teaching as a career requires that I first become a learner. In addition, in order to be a professional teacher, I need to get a degree. Similarly, a career in counseling calls for adequate knowledge and skills. School is the only place I can gain knowledge and skills necessary in either career. Additionally, it will provide me with adequate materials, resources, and guidance as I work towards my goal. Moreover, in the school, I will interact and reason with individual from diverse cultures, interests, and opinions different from what I deal with as a customer care agent. As my children continue to grow, they keep asking questions about college. They show determination of knowing what a degree is, how one earns it, and the influence it has on one’s life. Nevertheless, I am not equipped enough to answer these questions as I do not possess a degree. I have never been to a college. Under these circumstances, I find it essential to join college and earn my own degree. I yearn to experience the life in college considering experience is the best
