Personal Statement: Why I Go To College

College was never a question to me. It was a statement. I grew up knowing that one day I’ll get a scholarship, go to college, and become a physician. College was always on my mind when I needed to raise a grade or when I studied. Yet, do I actually want to go to college? No one does. No one wants to put in the time, money, and effort. So why do we? We go to college because we need to. We need to be accepted by society and to be able to have a good life for ourselves and for our children. I’m going to college to become a doctor because I have dreamed of knowing what it feels like to save a person’s life. I remember being a kid and having my dad point out the things I’ll be able to buy when I become a doctor and telling me that I will have to
