imagine life inside a cage. About to be injected with unknown chemicals. Suddenly, a hand presses you against a cold, hard table, preventing you from moving as the needle inches closer and closer. This is the fate of thousands of animals every day. Animal testing is done to evaluate the effectiveness of new medicines and products. Test animals include: mice, fish, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Its is estimated that, per year, more than 115 million animals worldwide are used for experimental testings ( About Animal Testing 1 ). These experiments often cause agony and physical pain. Ergo, animals should not be used for scientific or commercial testing.
Animal testing causes animals to suffer in both physical and psychological ways.
