Wouldn’t you have liked to have four day school weeks? Kids across the nation are reaping the benefits of four day school weeks. Even the schools see benefits for the four day school week. A Four day school week is a great idea for many reasons. Flexibility to teachers and students and reducing student and teacher absences. As well as happier morale, saving money, and academic improvement throughout the school week.
Flexibility to teachers and students is a big reason why schools and districts are making the change. Also, you will have more time with your family and other things. In general, students are at school more with the four day school week because they do sport things typically on Friday, the day most likely, students would get off with the four day school week. Many schools are saying there has been a significant change in student attendance. (S4) Teachers also find it easier to avoid absences. (S1) Compared to the normal five day school week, students want to be at school more than normal. (S3) Students and teachers are able to limit absences with the four day school week.
With the four day school week, studies have shown Academic improvement with students. Schools have noticed increased scores on grades. Some schools have said test scores have improved. Also, some schools noticed an increase in graduation rate. Also, just better grades in general with the 4 day school week, students focus more and because of it, get better grades. (S2)
