Lower the Legal Age
Alcohol has become a major beverage of today’s society. People of all different race, gender, ethnicity, and backgrounds drink alcohol. The legal drinking age has been a disputed law for many years. It is a law that some believe should remain at 21 years old. However, some believe it should be lowered to as young as 18 years old. One may think that lowering the legal age would only do harm for teens. Nonetheless, there is evidence to support that lowering the legal age would benefit America. At the age of 18, an individual acquires adulthood and many different responsibilities. This includes the right to vote, join the military, buy cigarettes, get married, and much more. If an individual has the right to join the military and risk their life for their beloved country, then one should be able to buy a beer at the store for their personal use. One may want to use alcohol to relieve the everyday stress and demands that are involved with being in the military. With the thousands of colleges in America, it is nearly impossible to stop underage drinking. Young college students are drinking in unsafe environments all across campus. Lowering the drinking age would provide a safer environment for those underage drinkers. This includes bars, restaurants, and licensed locations. With the law
