On February 16 of this year, a massive protest broke out all over the United States. Unlike other protest, this was more or less peaceful than violent. On this day, the Day Without An Immigrant protest and march took place in major cities across the U.S. These protest were a boycott against President Trump’s pledge to crack down on those in the country illegally and also against the U.S Immigration and Customs. Many schools, restaurants and other businesses across the country closed their doors for the day due to lack of employees and also in respect of those who participated in the protest. “A Day Without Immigrants, resulted in immigrant workers and students refusing to go to work or attend classes in an attempt to show the impact immigrants have on our communities and, quite literally, what life would be like in the U.S. without them”. Ok we understand, you think Trump doesn’t like you and wants you to go back to where you came from…thats not true! We also understand you are a massive contributor to our economy, but skipping work and school is a poor way of showing how much we need you. I myself am an immigrant; although I was born here in the United States, in the great state of Texas, my background comes from the United Kingdom and Europe, plus I am Native American. I am not running around protesting the fact that there is not a day dedicated to Native Americans because I celebrate my heritage everyday!
