Are you having trouble in school? Do you not understand your homework?Well then you should consider going to an all year round school. I think that districts should consider opening school all year. The problem is that teachers have to review for a whole week! “A Duke University study even suggested kids attending year-round schools are a slight advantage, because they don’t forget what they have learned during the long summer break.” (page 2)
First, “Summer days are often spent indoors, playing video games and watching T.V” (page 15) This is example of in how we should have school because when kids play video games or watch T.V they forget all about the things they have learned in school and they don’t get enough practice over the summer. Secondly, “most students don’t need a review when they return” (page 14) The students will not need a review if they have all year-round school because they will not have a big break so then they can just go ahead and start teaching new things. Thirdly, “Keep in mind that most year-round schools have exactly the same number of schools and vacation days as traditional-calendar schools.” (page 14) This proves that schools still have weeks off just not all at once. “The very thought of sending kids to school year-round makes some parents cringe. The balk at the idea of kids attending schools with no summer break. They question the value of a continuous school year interspersed with several short breaks.” This is an example on how schools should be year-round because parents get to see their kids more often and they don’t want to wait till June to spend time with their kids. However, you should support school being year-round school because then parents get to see their kids more often and they will be able to spend more time with
