When you volunteer you are able to advance your career. Volunteering will allow you to experience things like customer service, how to handle different obstacles and even enhance your knowledge on certain things. HiCaliber Horse Rescue is home to many horses that have been dumped at the auction where most horses end up getting sold to kill pens through the auctions. HiCaliber is a large recuse known for buying neglected horses from the auction. They take these horses home, where they retrain and adopt them out to new homes.
The Hero’s Journey is found in many places. The Hero’s Journey is a story structure that is found everywhere, in books, in movies, and in life. For instance, the Hero’s Journey is also found in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. A stage in the Hero’s Journey connects to when Harry Potter meets Hagrid, Meeting the Mentor. In Chapter 4, there is a moment when Harry hears a loud banging on the door.
The definition of a shelter is a place giving protection from bad weather or danger a place providing food accommodation for the homeless “an animal sanctuary” a shielded condition; protection Why do we even call “shelters” *hand motion* shelters when some kill innocent animals. So how could it be an animal sanctuary? Some animals don’t even get a good chance to find a new family, because there isn’t enough space in the shelter, and they are euthanized. Shelters should be a place that actually cares for animals, while they don’t have a home. It most definitely shouldn’t be a place where animals are killed because there’s not enough space.
When there is a person that you see that needs help with something and you help them that is doing a service. Sometimes, at school I see a person with a watchdog or service dog. These people help train the dog,
I began volunteering at the age of 15 when I heard about the amazing opportunity of helping animals find a loving home. When I was volunteering at Safe Home Rescue every Saturday or Sunday at a local PetSmart, there was always a new furry face (typically a cat or dog) that I got to meet and get to know before trying to find them a forever home. As a way to calm down the nervous animals, I would take them on a walk around the store. This action would help them sniff out their surroundings while at the same time giving them a higher chance at adoption as the local customers looked in awe. Safe Home Rescue granted me my first real working experience with animals besides helping injured animals before and for that I am forever grateful.
“The animals of this world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites” - Alice Walker. Some of the animals that you see in zoos are not always born in captivity. They can be taken right out of the wild as well. Although zoos are fun to visit, animals should not be held in captivity because the breed can become overpopulated, they do not know how to survive on their own, and they are being abused.
They say your best friend is someone that you'll truly remember for a lifetime, everyone says that your best friend is there for you unconditionally and will always love you for you and never judge you for your mistakes. By your best friend, I mean a dog, cat, bird, guinea pig or any other pet that you will love and they will love you unconditionally in return. When it come to picking out your new found friend, it can be very difficult to decide where you want to go to find them. You can either go to a local animal shelter, look around for an animal, meet them, fill out paperwork beforehand to see if you get approved or not and then save a life or you can go to a store, point, pay and go home. I personally believe that everyone should go to their local animal shelters and adopt.
Fostering animals, why should anyone do it? The short answer is that it will save lives. To expand, animal shelters all around the United States have suffered from overcrowding at one point or another in their business. When that occurs, they have two options: either turn away the new animals being dropped off at their doorstep or euthanize those who have been in the system for “too long”. When you choose to foster, you’re assisting in both traumatic issues.
Well we have animal shelters, but the workers can’t handle every animal that comes through the shelter. That’s the reason they need volunteers to come in and help. I volunteer because it’s helping an animal who really needs to have a little love in their life before they get adopted. For my senior project, I did exactly that. I went in a volunteer at Snake River Animal Shelter.
We all may have thought about volunteering at an animal shelter at one point in our lives not knowing about the benefits it would give. Though some may argue that animal shelters already have the help they need, animal shelters are always in need of help and are thankful to those who give it. Animals would get a better chance at adoption, you will get to know their personalities and help them get adopted, and improve your emotions and health through volunteer work. If we were to volunteer at an animal shelter then we would have given the animals we helped a better chance at adoption. A well groomed, healthy, and well trained pet has more of a chance at being adopted than a wild, dirty, stray pet.
Imagine yourself distraught and feeling so lost. You being to feel lonely and like nothing out there can cure your sadness. As you sit and think about how your world is getting smaller, you feel a wet nose nudge your knee. You open your eyes to see the sweetest, fluffiest face. It is your puppy.
Millions of lives just as innocent as the most generous child; Trapped in the barriers we know as cages, that they know as Hell; Too many lives for humanity to just be a bystander. Each and every day is filled with a million moments and opportunities for us to take a stand and make a change. Animal shelters around the world are constantly filling with new animals; it is simply too much for the small amounts of staff on their own to make sure every animal gets the love they deserve, as well as making sure the shelter is kept tidy and operating. Animal shelters need us, young and old, even if only for an hour. That small span of time can make the world for them; volunteering assures that animals will get daily love, lowers full-time staff stress,
Every 10 seconds in America, an animal is abused. That means that every time an hour passes, a total of 360 animals have been tortured and sometimes, even killed. This number is way too high, and it needs to be brought down for good. In 2007 alone, a total of 1,880 cruelty cases were reported. Animal abuse happens way too often, yet not enough people do anything to help make a difference.
Volunteering is when you freely offer to do something without pay. In a person’s life, they have at least participated in community service one time. Whether it be working the concession stand at a ball game, picking up the mail for an elder, or even babysitting. For some people, volunteering helps them feel like they play an essential role while they are giving back to their community. Although volunteering is purely an act of kindness, it can also be very helpful in some people’s lives, such as making them feel like they are the difference makers.
Volunteering is a way of helping others. It is giving a person 's time and ability to help someone who may be in need of help. Not only does volunteering help others, but what they may not know is that it can be helpful to themselves. It is a great way for someone to interact with others in their community. It gives someone that time to themselves while also creating bonds when they are doing the greater good.
