Paul Oxton once said, “It seems everything in nature that has beauty, also has a price.
Let the value of our planets wildlife be to nature and nature alone.” Animals around the world have been constantly mistreated by the human population for a very long time in many horrific ways with no sympathy. As a person that has been in love with animals since the day I was born I am determined to help better animal equality in the best way that I can. Over the years I have had personal experiences with animals such as volunteering for Safe Home Rescue by helping foster animals find a home and helping injured animals I have stumbled upon. I began volunteering at the age of 15 when I heard about the amazing opportunity of helping animals find a loving home. When I was volunteering at Safe Home Rescue every Saturday or Sunday at a local PetSmart, there was always a new furry face (typically a cat or dog) that I got to meet and get to know before trying to find them a forever home. As a way to calm down the nervous animals, I would take them on a walk around the store. This action would help them sniff out their surroundings while at the same time giving them a higher chance at adoption as the local customers looked in awe. Safe Home Rescue granted me my first real working experience with animals besides helping injured animals before and for that I am forever grateful.
Two years later, I am now 18 years old and I still try to volunteer as much as I can while juggling school and work. I not only help animals but I also participate in volunteer activity within my community through a school club named Key Club. My dream to change the lives of animals has only grown stronger and I plan on going into an animal based career in either a business or medical pathway.
