The topic is if schools should ban books, well I kind of get why teachers and professors would want to get rid of books but think about the students you're taking away good books from them. Sure there might be things that might not be as suitable for the kids, but sometimes they're going to have to run into bad things in the books. I ran into a book and my mom didn't want me to read it, I didn't, so basically what i'm trying to say is their parents should handle what they read. The books should have labels that tell you the level it is and what the book is about on the back. In this prompt i'm going to give you three reasons why teachers shouldn't ban books and why. The First reason why people shouldn't ban books is because books are kind of like history, if you take away books you're taking away part of history. If a student grabs a book and you just take it away you just stopped them from possibly learning something new in the book. For example To Kill A Mockingbird is about racism and if they take it away they no longer learn. I read a article on Newsela and it said that in British they banned Too Kill A Mockingbird just because it was American. That's how you'll know that your student is reading that they're supposed to and nothing too high or low for them. Yeah it is going to take some time to sort all the books into the right places but at least you don't have to worry about what you're student is reading. If all the books are sorted out where they need to be then their parents have no reason to complain that their child is reading something bad. Besides banning the books what would the librarian do with no books, they would have nothing to do at their job.
