Every race has different rules and different car regulations. Street Car Showdown is one of the races that take place there. It occurs on May 12th, June 30th, and September 8th. There are three classes you can enter in this race: street extreme, street bandit, and street driver. In order to be in the street extreme category, your car must be able to complete the track in 8.50 seconds or slower.
True stories abound of good old boys transporting loads of illegal moonshine in their souped up 34 Fords, trying to elude the revenue agents as they drove without headlights along dark twisting dirt roads at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. The need to prove who had the fastest car led to weekend races at tracks carved out of pastures and corn fields. Bill France saw the need for formally organized competition and his efforts led to the founding in 1948 of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), motorsport’s preeminent stock car racing organization.
In the short story, “A Worn Path,” Eudora Welty introduces an elderly, African American, woman named Phoenix Jackson, whom for two or three years has made a long quest to town to get medicine for her ill grandson. Initially, Phoenix must overcome many obstacles to reach climax of her journey. Eudora Welty uses these obstacles to demonstrate the theme of her story, which is that Phoenix’s ambition/hope was the leading role in her preserving. The first obstacle that displays Phoenix’s determination to succeed, was when she came to a hill during her quest to town.
So you think barrel racing is easy right? It may seem that way to some. I guess it may seem that way to some. I guess it may be if for twenty seconds you can muster an insane amount of courage. Barrel racing is a fast paced sport full of danger.
Horses will react by rearing up or running away from the distraction. The rider can be thrown from the horse and receive serious injuries. There is also substantial ways to protect the horse. The saddle pad protects the horse from the saddle.
This paper gave me a chance to go out and get ideas from people in my community. I wasn't to surprised with some of the feed back I got because it's actually what I expected. You can stop it, but you can find safer ways to allow them to ride safely and not on the streets. I believe there are ways to decease the amount of dirt bike and ATV riding that take place on Philadelphia street. Here are some ideas that myself and the community came up with to reduce the illegal dirt bike and ATV riding/ use on our Philadelphia streets.
Rough Draft Cross country is probably the simplest sport anyone will ever play. All they need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle. The team runs together, but also as individuals. Cross country is great because even though it is hard, it will help make runners stronger and better at other sports they play.
The pace car pulls away from the track and a thunder of high speed cars approaches the first turn. The noise of the cars blows my dad and me away but yet it is very familiar to us. Each lap is exhilarating with leader changes and multiple crashes at the first turn. The pit stops are ruthless and drivers take chances that have a great risk of ending their day racing.
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.
Imagine sitting on the bleachers cheering on the jockeys and their horses, but, multiple red flags are being set off. Thoroughbreds collapse on the ground from exhaustion and jockeys begin whipping the horses. This is no sport, this is a death run. Even the winners and losers do not matter in this “sport” when they stop bringing in the greens or receive an injury on the track.
Motocross is the most physical, demanding, and dangerous sport in the world. Motocross is motorcycle racing which consists of winding tracks full of multi-terrains and large jumps. The average season is year round. that is if riders race arena or supercross through the winter. To be a Professional dirt bike rider you must have 100 amatuer points to become a pro racer.
Equestrian sports have been entertaining humans for centuries. Many of these sports have turned fun entertainment into a business. The focus has changed from having fun to making as much money as possible. In every equestrian sport, questionable things are done to train and get horses to their “best” potential. Equestrian sports should have stricter regulations and enforcement in order to ensure and maintain the safety of the horse.
From the days of when the WWII GI’s came home and started building their hot rods and making high horsepower vehicles, and ending in today where people are still building fast cars, all of these people built their cars for competition and raced against the people of their time. Everybody street raced at one point in their lives to see who was faster and the loser would go home, work some more, buy some more parts, and build their car to try to beat them the next go around. Even then cops would chase people and try to stop street racing. The police and everybody in the state should support street racing to be able to control it instead of trying to stop people.
The sport has high risks of injuries and death. The reason of this is that the drivers of motor racing like to be on the edge on every corner on every lap so if something goes wrong even though a small thing then that would be your life. The safety in the olden days weren’t very good either. They had an open cockpit, no seatbelts, No suits and the helmet wasn’t mandatory. Even if the driver wore a helmet it wasn’t very protective.
