Drink Driving Drink driving has become a global issue in this day and age. As the use of alcohol increases, along with that come the increase of drink driving. Many ideas have been brought up to try to combat this issue. However, no drastic changes have been made as of yet. It is stereotyped that young males would be most likely to drink drive, which is in fact true. Out of half a million breathalyser tests took each year, at least 100,000 of them come back positive and the majority being males from the age of 17-29. The government has recently targeted drink drive campaigns at this group to reduce the numbers. Despite these efforts, the numbers don’t seem to be decreasing any time soon, if anything, increasing. There is no excuse for drink driving nowadays, there are so many companies and services available for the public to use such as, taxis, Ubers, and Lyft. If you decide to drink and drive the alcohol will delay your reaction times making it less likely that you will be able to slam on the brakes in time if someone walks in front of the car. Your ability to judge distance and speed will be poorer, therefore may lead to you speeding, which is dangerous to you and everyone around you. Your vision will be blurred and you won’t be able to see as far as you normally would be, meaning if there is a hazard in the road you might not notice it until it’s too late.
