Like water and electricity, drinking and driving don’t get along. No one can drink and drive or do anything right as to they would if they were sober. When intoxicated alcohol controls the entire body. The mind doesn’t think right. Body functions don’t work together like they usually would and the mouth surely doesn’t stay closed when in situations where it should. Most people don’t think things thoroughly when getting into a car and starting it after they just took six shots of tequila at a house party. It’s because they don’t want to, they simply can’t. A million thoughts are running through a drunk person’s mind when they’re under the influence. Drinking and driving continues to be a huge problem and should be taken seriously because it’s dangerous, avoidable and another way in the world to hurt someone if not yourself. Everything is basically a blur and in a vision that isn’t clear. Drinking and driving is dangerous as a mentally ill person that hasn’t taken their medicine. Something bad will happen. Innocent people who are aren’t under the influence and living their regular life are the ones who get hurt more than the driver and sometimes die. Believe it or not alcohol is a drug and people do get addicted to it fast and it’s a very hard habit to break. Alcohol kills more teenagers than all other drugs combined. It is a factor in the three leading causes of death among to fifteen to twenty-four year olds are accidents, homicides and suicides. About one-third of the drunk driving problem are arrests, crashes, deaths, and injuries and comes from repeat offenders. At any given point we potentially share the roads with 2 million people with three or more drunk driving offenses.
