Driving while intoxicated, is one of the most dangerous situations someone could put his or herself in. Drunk drivers even put the lives of other people at risk of danger. Bottom line, if you’re going to drink, make sure you have a place to stay for the night, or you have a designated driver. Drunk drivers are disgraces to our society, because they kill thousands of people each year, ruin innocent lives, and cost the United States billions of dollars. On average, every fifty two minutes a person dies from drunk driving. That’s close to twenty eight people a day, and ten thousand, one hundred and eight people a year. Sadly, most of those deaths weren’t even the people that were drunk. Around two hundred deaths account for children up to the age of fourteen. I think the punishment for drunk driving isn’t enough. Everyone thinks he or she won’t get in an accident, because as it says most people drive up to eighty times before they either get arrested, or they crash.
