Stressful events contribute a huge factor to why people drink and drive. Drinking and driving in my opinion is one of America’s top death incidents. But why do people drink and drive? Maybe a person is having a very difficult day, or can’t seem to get rid of a certain problem and they would like to get their mind off of the situation. People then turn to alcohol. Alcohol is a certain type of depressant, which is why people mainly drink, not only to have a good time but to relieve themselves for a given moment. To every decision one makes, there will always be a consequence. Many tragedies occur while drinking and driving. Those tragedies consist of accidents, irrational decisions that lead to mistakes in which cannot be fixed, that then rule to death.
Sometime in life, many of us go through certain situations where we feel weak, and vulnerable, like nothing in life makes sense. Alcohol is what most of us aim to when going through a certain problem, but driving under the influence may cause …show more content…

What makes the circumstance worse, is when an individual is intoxicated with alcohol. Irrational decisions are being made unconsciously that then induces a person into thinking that they are able to drive to a certain destination, when they’re not intellectually stable. In fact, people who get drunk out of their mind at bars, who later begin to have altercations with another individual, leave upset, and then take off in their car. Their mind is not fully capable of thinking rationally. So their acting upon emotions, and picking up arguments with whomever crosses their path or looks at them a certain way. Because a person is not on their right state of mind, decisions are being made which may critically destroy oneself. What hurts the most, is that the individual now has to suffer with that consequence for the remaining of their life, it cannot be erased, and it is something that now they will have to carry for the rest of their
