Teens drinking and driving is a major problem in the U.S. This is causing many injuries and deaths in the U.S. and should be took seriously. Teens need to understand the problems that could occur when they are driving under the influence of alcohol. “Young drivers (ages 16-20) are 17 times more likely to die in a crash when they have a blood alcohol concentration of .08% than when they have not been drinking” (Teen Drinking And Driving). Teens should also think about their life and the other drivers life before they choose to drive under the influence.

The main thing is that parents need to be more involved on what their child is doing when they are controlling a vehicle. Driving a vehicle is a responsibility and parents have to make sure their child have enough responsibility to know what and what not to do when driving a vehicle. In the United States, 12.8% of all fatal traffic crashes were alcohol-related, and 40% of that number involved teens driving while drinking alcohol ("Teenage Drunk Driving Risks").The parents should also have consequences for them if they are doing the wrong things while driving the vehicle.
