As frequently as drunk driving happens, there is now a faster and easier way to reduce the number of lives lost by using breathalyzers in vehicles. Many states already implement the mandatory use of an ignition interlock device after someone has been found guilty of drunk driving. This device is installed for up to 2 years and is done at the expense of the guilty party. While investigating whether or not cars should have breathalyzers, it is clear that cars should be automatically equipped with them because it takes little to no time to take the test, lives would be saved, and the breathalyzers are hard to manipulate the system.

If a car breathalyzer was a standard device on any vehicle, the number of accidents, injuries and deaths caused by drunk driving would decline while upholding the rights of everyone to arrive home safely(Snyder "Should All Cars be Equipped with a Car Breathalyzer? "). There is ways to take the test without it being a distraction to the road by simply pulling over and taking a quick test. I think breathalyzers should be stressed more frequently because it saves lives and also cuts back on doing things illegally. It has already been proven that it has reduced the amount of accidents in the US because of it. If the world didn’t have breathalyzers then there is a chance that there would be more lives lost and more injuries and more charges going against people. The smart thing to do would be to have everyone who is charged with a DUI charge more than once should have to have one
