Africa’s known for their cultural heritage, beautiful wildlife, and unfortunately, Ebola. The first outbreak occurred in 1976, in Zaire, Africa. The deadliest Ebola outbreak occurred, October 2014 in Western Africa. The crisis captured the attention of people nationwide. Ebola is a highly fatal disease that has severely affected Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The virus is causing thousands of people to become infected: According to the World Health Organization, There has been 14,646 confirmed cases of Ebola worldwide (qtd. in Brown). West Africa needs help to maintain and stop future outbreaks. The United States should guide Africa out of their barbaric environment.

To drag Africa out of the recession, the United States should reestablish their communities. The virus left a huge effect on West Africa; communities face economic struggle and food shortages. In addition, many children have been challenged with isolation, homelessness, and poverty, as a result of the social stigma (Biello). Several Africans are afraid that their life will continue to flow in a downward path. Many Americans don’t find it difficult to aid Africa, because of the opportunity to build a strong relationship and a powerful ally. According to the United Nations, the virus has infected so many people that: "Ebola will cost West Africa, 15 billion dollars in the next three years due to the impact of the Ebola virus outbreak" (Lai). The governments money to aid Africa could be used to build and clean hospitals and houses, transport food, and support people in the most infected areas. Also, the United States should enforce high security in West Africa, because it is an abundant place to become captivated by terrorist. “The Islamic State is urging supporters to use Ebola as a chemical weapon to kill western civilians” (Hughes). The world is at risk by ISIS and Al-Qaeda, because they could use the Ebola virus as a bioweapon.
