Foster care rates are blowing through the roof, how do we stop this? Logically, bad parents create harmful situations, so therefore, we create controlled parents. All teenagers and expecting parents should have a semester or an equivalent of 20 lessons on parenting and evaluations. These classes will benefit the small homes individually, and the entire country. Citizens have a lot of stress, homework, and sports to worry about. Why should we pressure these people to worry about one more class? I know that our children deserve more in this country than a drug addict mom or abusive father. These classes will not only make sure that these people know the right safety precautions and how to love their children. It will also teach budgeting skills, be an example of good influences, and educate on how to recognize when your child is in need. Every child deserves to be loved and cared for. These numbers are the results of abuse, neglect, and substance abuse. So originally the fault is in our current generation, for raising their kids the way they are, but after these minors become adults, they move on, right? Absolutely not. Violence has been proven to have a lasting effect of low confidence, depression, anger issues, and isolation. These actions have lasting effects. They continue to effect generation after generation. Sixty-six percent of them will be homeless, go to jail or die within one year of leaving the foster care system at 18.” This is an ongoing problem that won’t stop unless people act.
