On September 11, 2001 nineteen Muslim terrorists hijacked four commercial airlines, and with fire in their eyes began a mission that would not only shake New York, but all of the world. Two of the hijacked planes were flown into the twin towers, smashing into them with a ball of fire and turmoil. New Yorkers froze in shock as they watched their city become something they never imagined possible. A city coated in flaming debris, ash, and human remains. As our nation slowly repairs its emotionally scarred hearts a recently problematic proposal has America split in half. The proposal of a new Islamic community center to be placed on the edge of ground zero. This is due to the fact that one half of Americans protest against the construction of the mosque, and the other half protests against the protesters. Reminiscing upon this fact should truly spark your interest because this shows us that the side for the construction of the Ground Zero mosque, is not truly for the construction of it. These people’s arguments are not fueled by the fact that the construction of this mosque is absolutely necessary, but by allowing it to be built we prove our nation’s religious freedom. The opposition states that through the flawless foundation of our nation this is all they need to prove the necessity of the Ground Zero mosque. However, this actually reveals a substantial weakness within the opposition’s arguments. They cannot truly argue for the mosque’s construction, but only debate against arguments stating that the construction of the Ground Zero mosque is demeaning and
