Guns owned by the normal law abiding citizen are not used in crimes, but they might be one day. Not just any crimes, of course. They won't be used to rob convenience stores, settle disputes between rival drug-trafficking gangs, or commit other crimes that happen in the real world. If gun control activists accomplish their goal, the crime will be simply owning them. Gun control will either make criminals of law-abiding citizens, or it will permit only the criminals to own guns, greatly compromising the safety of the average citizen. Thankfully our forefathers set forth a group of laws upon the advent of the United States entitled "The Constitution of the United States". Several amendments were added. Our forefathers and every generation were able to solve all their problems and not have such high crime rates without regulating gun sales. The problem we have now is that people aren’t taught the dangers and significance of guns. Yes, criminals buy guns, but who’s to say that if we get rid of every gun in America that the crimes rates will decline? Marijuana is illegal in most states and there is still people smoking it, as well as other street drugs, so if we can’t control street drug sales, then how on Earth are we supposed to regulate every American with a gun? The system must be efficient and perfect before the cost to taxpayers can be warranted. Stricter rules for the authorizing of gun dealers will help to limit the number of people with access to new weapons. Stricter business rules and an effort to increase compliance will help to weed out the bad dealers. The most stringent of rules cannot solve the problem of violence in America. The black market is strong and will remain to serve the needs of the criminal. The United States has no hope of actually improving its social predicament without a return to
