Homelessness is a big problem in the U.S. In the U.S there are 582,462 homeless which is 18% of the population. The U.S. is 26th in the world for homelessness with the Central African Republic being in front of them with 686,200 and Uganda behind them with 500,000. Of the 582,462 people around 41% are unsheltered by choice or by nothing being available. Many people also choose to be on the streets because they don't like shelters because it is not a natural place to call home. That’s many reasons why I choose this project to make a cause to build 3-D printed houses. Every time I see a homeless person it makes me feel bad and sad especially when they seem very young like 18 or 19 because they haven’t even been out of school for that long. It also seems that a lot of people and families don't have a choice that they are on the streets and were kicked out of their apartments. It seems that a lot of people like landlords and jobs don't have it easy for these people who are living paycheck to paycheck and won’t let them stay for another day or won’t let them get their paycheck early. A lot of regular houses are very expensive and so are apartments to live in and that is what might have happened is that they were kicked out of their apartment. A really good quote I found is “Don’t try to drive the homeless into places we find suitable. Help them survive in places they find suitable.” (Daniel Quinn). I like this quote because it shows how they don’t want a house, they really want a home because we might think they want a shelter to live in and a place we think would be nice but they want to be in a place they find
