The Civil War ended in 1865, the result, therefore being the abolishment of slavery in America. However, slavery has not been exerted from American society, it has merely taken a less direct, or public, route. This modern day slavery is called human trafficking. It happens within America, along within countries all around the world. Human trafficking is illegal in over 130 countries, yet this still ceases to bring the enslaving of persons to a halt. Violating the rights of men, women, and children, it not only encompasses prostitution and the sex trade, but also forced labor. Human trafficking is a worldwide issue which stands in the way of humane growth.
In their life, many people will face the possibility of exploitation into human trafficking. Though people of any situation have this threat, several people are sold into trafficking with the necessity of a debt being paid off.
