One of the biggest problems that we as Americans face today is Illegal Immigration. Immigration has been a problem that has followed us throughout the years and one that still lacks a solid solution. It’s not as simple as “deporting them all” or “building a wall” because at the end of the day we still simply don’t have the funds for that and neither does Mexico so we are right back where we started. Also if we really are to take on something so immense as deporting every last illegal immigrant are we really ready to face the even bigger problems that migration causes? We are told we can do anything because we live in a free country where everyone has the same opportunity as long as they are willing to work for it. As Americans we are encouraged to further our education and expect more out of ourselves. As a result we have a successful society but also low paying jobs that are left unoccupied. A lot of those jobs include agricultural occupations. Immigrants are looking for anything better than the previous life they have lived are willing to take these jobs so that they can have the same shot we have to attain the opportunity of a better life. Without these immigrants, these jobs would be vacant. These jobs include feeding the world. The agricultural industry would suffer the most, which would eventually lead to more expense for everyone. Agriculture will never go away, It possesses almost every aspect of our lives. If we were to deport all immigrants the agricultural industry would be disrupted and skyrocket prices of production which will affect everyone. A 2012 study done by Texas A&M showed that dairy operations using migrant labor supply takes part in over three-fifths of the country's milk. Therefore, without these workers the economic output would decline by 22 billion and 133,000 would lose their jobs. The AFBF study also shows that just enforcing the borders without immigration reform will cost 30-60 billion in agriculture production and increase food prices by 5 to 6
