I strongly support the goal of No Child Left behind Act to help kids succeed. Under this policy, schools will be rewarded by performance on tests. Although, I would get a better system that monitors kids on their individual basis for the whole year. “Our kids and our schools shouldn’t have their whole futures riding on how well children can fill in little circles, to be scored by machines.”(Harris, Harris and Smith 33-45) There are tons of people who do not perform well on tests. Many students are smart and can understand the content but it does not show on the tests. A speech to the national education says we have seen firsthand how the impact of more time cannot be underestimated (Davis 2-15). The goal should be evaluated by the course of the year instead of single-testing performance. The teachers have a lot to do with test performance.

Higher income families can afford their students to take prep classes, whereas lower income families can’t afford it. Lower income families are in areas where the education isn’t as sophisticated. Parents don’t have the tools needed to advance their kids. Test scores correlate with family income which means the higher ones family income people predict the higher ones test score (Soares and Ovaska). High school grades reflect years of effort rather than a simple test score. The faculty claims that they resist change thinking the test measures better IQ scores. Grade point average in academic subjects in high school has proved to be the best overall predator of students’ performance in college (Soares and Ovaska). The impact of a test score puts more American families at a disadvantage to their income. GPA has no effect on family income that’s why colleges should look off the students overall
