Nuclear energy is a controversial subject. There are many supporters and opponents for that kind of alternative energy source. Definitely through the years scientist and engineers improved their technics of dealing with such a dangerous matter. But our planet and many people were exposure to radioactive materials. Many catastrophes teach us more about how to prevent future leaks and potential explosions, but the harm was already done. It’s a very complicated subject that many people don’t understand and probably never will. But everyone knows it’s extremely dangerous. And there’s always a danger of bomb attack. Even though they claim to do it only for energy, a threat of developing a nuclear weapon by them is high. Steps were taken to slow down and control how the development of such an energy progress in Iran, but we can’t by 100% sure how Iran will react to such a limitations and if they are not going to keep proceeding in a secret. “Some of the nuclear waste must be stored for a minimum of 100,000 to 200,000 years in such a way that it does not come in contact with humans or with any part of the environment” (Seitz). That numbers are terrifying. I can’t imagine that people still want to develop something that creates so much danger. After so many catastrophes with nuclear energy happened and caused so much damage that maybe it’s time to stop that madness. How can we be sure that the storages containing nuclear waste will be able to hold for that long, and how badly it’s going to affect our planet if there are some serious leaks? “The danger of terrorists stealing plutonium to make a bomb or to use as a poison t be spread in the atmosphere over a city or in its drinking water is real”
