Public Schools vs. Charter Schools Education is the key that open doors to opportunities and success. Public schools are a way in which the government invests money to provide education to people with low economic resources. However, those schools are being seriously attacked for having bad reputation both, academically and disciplinary. This has led some parents to transfer their children to charter schools. Those schools are publicly financed and tuition free created and operated by parents and community group to satisfy the need of the students. Although public schools offer the same academic resources for students as in charter and privates schools, public schools are lacking of external support. This has a tremendous impact in these schools because this leaded to the decay of some public schools and students’ hope. Problem such as lack of parental involvement and teacher attrition are issues that American education is facing and hence, public schools are being affected the most. But those issues do not make charter schools inherently better than tradition schools. The idea of charter schools was created by Professor Ray Budde in 1974. Teaching is an overwhelming profession; in addition to teaching, teachers have responsibilities such as homecoming, year book, prom, or cheerleader sponsor (Cochran and Reese). This can explain why some teachers don’t reach their full potential when teaching students, they have too much going on, and they cannot concentrate in what the kids need.
