We could not deny that one of the factors affecting the treatment of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is their refusal of blood transfusion. They have very deep convictions against the blood transfusion. This Christian sect was founded in 1872 by Charles Russell in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in which their members’ have a strong stance on blood transfusion which derived from their interpretation of Genesis 9 and Leviticus 17 to “not eat from the bread of life,” as well as the verses in Acts 15:20, Acts 21:25 to “abstain from blood products”, regardless of the possibility of death. For Jehovah’s Witnesses, any form of receiving blood products could lead to their excommunication & eternal

The Current Events in Charter Schools There are three different types of schools, concerning the United States board of education system. These include public schools, private schools, and charter schools. The definition of a public school is an elementary or secondary school in the U.S that is being supported by public funds and provides a free education for children. To define the meaning of a private school is to know that it is the opposite of a public school. An elementary or secondary school is a kind of school that is privately funded and is supported by the payment fees.
Persuasive Topic: The controversial closure of National Teachers Academy in favor of a new South Loop high school. Chicago Public Schools Position Chicago Public Schools formally recommended that the National Teacher Academy(NTA) grade school at 55 W. Cermak Road be closed and converted to a new neighborhood high school serving all or parts of the South Loop, Bronzeville, Bridgeport, Chinatown and other Near South Side neighborhoods. The South Loop is one of few growing neighborhoods in Chicago as the city faces widespread population loss.
As the people of the Unites States we deserve to have our rights and we deserve to be held accountable and be able to use our rights. Horizon High School is a school of fun and a very high educational standard. This is not just any high school this is Horizon. As students of Horizon High School we must be enforced and controlled but to an extent where it is justifiable. Rules at Horizon High School have been enforced and have for years.
Traditional public schools are generally much bigger than charter schools, giving them the ability to enroll more students and incorporate a variety of extracurricular activities. According to Peterson (2017) “Charter schools are funded by governments, but operate independently. This means that charter schools must persuade parents to select them instead of a neighborhood district school” (p.1). By having to recruit students for enrollment, charter schools target the most motivated students. Since charter schools are smaller than traditional public schools, they tend to run out of seating fast, therefore they enroll their students using a lottery.
However, having school choice is crucial for students who cannot learn and thrive in the curriculum or the teaching styles of their school systems. School choice has the potential to raise test scores and grades of low performing students in a traditional public school. The acceptance of school choice has helped many cities find a way to get more students to graduate and thrive. Some charter and private school help states with schooling almost half of their population.
There is much controversy among the world of education as to whether charter schools are benefiting or hurting students education. Many believe that charter schools are just an attempt to privatize the education system, but it's just not that simple. In our society today the public school system has gotten to a point where the students with a more privileged background get the highest test scores, while students of less privileged backgrounds result in the lowest test scores. Charter schools are a chance for the children who have been abandoned by the public school system due to their socioeconomic background, another chance to get a high education and proceed from high school into a college career. Studies show that low performing children's

“Evaluation of all types of schools, charter and others, could be improved both by accounting for the difficulty of educating particular groups of students before interpreting test scores and by focusing on student gains over time, not their level of achievement in any particular year” (EPI). Everyone wants to know how charter schools are doing. There is a mass of research about how charter school students perform on tests, however the results can be questioned. The Charter School Achievement Consensus Panel states “It is impossible to observe the same students simultaneously in both charter schools and the schools they would have attended had charter schools not have been available” (Charter Achievement). There are three main reasons for the lack of evidence on the relationships between lotteries and equity.
Charter Schools are publicly funded independent private schools established by teachers, parents, or community groups, under the terms of a charter with a local or national authority. Charter Schools are public schools of choice, meaning that families chose them for their kids. Also teachers who work at a charter school usually fall under more flexible certification requirements than other public school teachers. Charter schools are often similar to magnet schools they often offer special programs such as Math, Engineering, and Environmental science. Also if The Charter school you are trying to enroll in gets too popular they will sometimes use a lottery system which will fill in the vacancies.
Introduction With a recent increase in presidential power and a new presidential cabinet, concerns have began to arise regarding state rights and independence. One of these concerns is school choice in the form of school vouchers. The use of school vouchers has been a state decision, and Texas has always been a school voucher free state. Not only the national government favors private-school voucher legislation (with Betsy DeVos as the new United States Secretary of Education); so does Texas. Texas’ Lieutenant Governor, Dan Patrick, urges the private-school voucher bill (SB 3) to pass the Texas House (as it has already passed the Senate).
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child’s life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in after school programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future.
Public school funding Increasing school funding is very important in today’s future American students. Education should be one of the top priorities in the United States to make sure every student has the same opportunity to get the same great education. Education Reforms Education reform is legislation to improve the quality of education in the United States. Once, grades were the most important achievement for students. However, politicians and the public were concerned that our standardized test scores were not as good as those of other countries. Therefore, state and national governments started making laws to make school more challenging and to test kids more. One of those laws was “No Child Left Behind”.
