Accepting more Syrian Refugees into the United States
More the half of Syria's pre-war population, over 11 million people, have been forced to flee their homes or have been killed; sometimes both ("Quick facts"). The United States has the ability to accept more Syrian refugees into the country, and we should. The problem is that there are humans, like us, that are being left without shelter, but we hold the solution; the solution is to allow more Syrian refugees into the United States with open arms.

Money is major issue in allowing refugees into the United States. "…Office of Refugee Resettlement has 1.56 billion dollars to spend in fiscal 2015" (Phillips). Having 1.56 billion to spend seems like a lot, but when you factor in how much it costs to help integrate refugees into United States and the cost for all the employees of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The solution to the problem of not being able to increase refugee integration is to find different programs that are able to endure and still prosper even with minor budget cuts. Many people are worried that Syrian refugees will be terrorists. Since 1980 there have been millions of refugees the United States have invited in. Hundreds of thousands of those refugees have been from the Middle East, and not a single one has committed an act of terrorism in the United States. It is also highly unlikely that refugees will every attack the United States as it much faster and less screening to get into the United States by using a tourist or student visa. In fact, non-refugees are responsible for all terrorist attacks in the United States for the past 35 years (Bier). It is proven that refugees are not terrorists, and that they truly need our help. Eleven million people have been forced to flee their homes, many dying in the process.
