It is sad to realize that Syrians and other Muslims go through to constant discrimination every day. 25,000 thousands Syrians die everyday because of the infamous Civil War. A world power such as the United States should have the responsibility to help save those lives. The current government policy of allowing Syrian Refugees into the US should not be suspended. There are three reasons why changing this policy is not necessary. The first reason is because the process to be a refugee is not easy in the US. The violence in Syria began in March 2011 and the Middle Eastern countries has been forced on their knees by a brutal civil war ever since. From the instant the war started Syrians have lost their homes, family, and their future. It did not take long to realize that the only hope of survival was escaping their homeland. In 2016 a total of four million Syrians have fled the country; 7.6 millions have lost their homes and half a million have died. Despite all the horrors that the Syrians have gone through they will continue to fall victim of discrimination because of the terrifying acts of Isis. Isis purpose is to enforce their beliefs to the world and they have done many gruesome acts to publicize their cause. The most recent incident of the Paris attacks have sadly close many doors to running refugees in Europe forcing them to be eventually murdered in a death zone. The United States had made the same mistake before in World War 2; denying Jewish refugees from Europe. That decision led to the Holocaust. Secretary Hillary Clinton has stated that:"we cannot allow terrorists to intimidate us into abandoning our values and humanitarian obligations. Turning away orphans, discriminating against Muslims, slamming the door on every single Syrian refugee—that's just not who we are.''Closing our borders to these people in danger would be cruel and inhuman.
