It is a terrible practice that mars America’s reputation as a place of equality and justice. The team that survived were warmly welcomed and taught how to practice farming natives led by a former slave, Squanto.
As winter slowly loosens its grip across the southeastern United States, many find their thoughts, once again, turning toward the woods. And so to rationalize both my beliefs and fears I turned to research the subject on my own and with an open mind.
