Second Time’s the Charm Destiny’s latest expansion, The Taken King, isn’t just more Destiny, it’s like a brand-new game. The general mechanics are the same but, it improves on many aspects of the overall experience. Destiny’s first year was very a controversial one; the lack of story, the enormous budget and many other things made gamers wonder what Bungie and Activision decided to spend 500 million dollars on. The general consensus was that gamers were disappointed, and rightfully so. However, The Taken King kicks off Destiny’s second year in a satisfying fashion and redeems the licence just enough for it to be considered an enjoyable experience. Here we go again!Here we go again! The revamped ones are still great, but the new ones have new mechanics and involve boss sequences that aren’t just enemies you’ve already faced before. For example, the PlayStation exclusive strike, The Echo Chamber, requires you and your team to move an orb from on place to another to damage the boss. The new subclasses are also pretty cool; they are kind of similar to the ones you already own, but they have different perks in their skill trees. Each subclass also has an “origin that makes things even more interesting. TTK’s new Crucible maps are fun, but they are mostly made for the new Mayhem Clash and Rift modes. Mayhem Clash is Team Deathmatch with a twist; your Super meter and abilities recharge then times faster, while Rift is like Capture The Flag, but with a lot more “boom.” An orb spawns in the middle of the map, and you must bring that orb to the enemy teams goal. Once the ball gets put in a goal, it explodes and kills everyone next to it, creating this ever so satisfying feeling whenever you successfully
