Schools tracking students There has been some talk about putting tracking devices in student ids in order to know their location. I for one and am against the idea of the schools breaking federal privacy laws and tracking the students every move. Not only is it a complete privacy violation but school funds just simply could not afford it. Another issue with tracking devices is that the schools brittle wife system simply could not handle the bandwidth needed to have the trackers online. Some argue that it will cut down on students skipping classes, and help prevent fighting, however there are some flaws in these hopeful ideas. Schools Wi-Fi systems are put under immense strain on a daily basis between students, teachers, and computer labs. The Wi-Fi seems to struggle to support all the devices and programs that are already running under the schools server. "The whole system didn't work. When everyone goes on at once, it overloads it" (iPad, Wi-Fi issues interrupt LA schools testing).
