You can imagine what this school may be like. There are no books and nothing to teach besides expressing the thought that technology is good and the only way to be happy. Today there are books that must be taught but suddenly are becoming banned. Books are read in school to prepare students for the outside world, and to express their imagination. Phones have caused a wall of distraction throughout schools; students are always on their phones during class and try to do their work on their phones.
Yet moving forward we still have many individuals who are taking action in shaping the world of tomorrow. Our current generation of students has an all new set of issues to face and educators across the board need to develop strategies to best serve the current population. Access to information and connections to other people has never been easier through the use of technology yet this is also creating a gap in making real connections. The current landscape is riddled with roadblocks to promoting the use of education to help solve significant social problems and incorporating lessons in virtues while properly preparing for students to become upstanding citizens.

As I walked to class one Monday morning, I noticed something out of the ordinary. I saw my peers (the people I go to school with) on their phones constantly. Even when I was at the library preparing for my math exam—everyone that was on the computer, or in a study hall, had some sort of digital device in their hands. Yes, of course, I had my cell phone that day---just in case of a family emergency, but my intentions were not solely to use my cell phone every single minute; it was to be in a collective setting, where I can have a piece of mind and focus on my school work. Whenever we are connected to a digital device, we tend to get distracted by it.
Teen’s parents might need to overcome their own blind vision. More than 75 percent of parents responding to the survey say that cellphone cheating happens at their children's school, but only 3 percent believe their own teen is using a cellphone to cheat. But even as teens advance their electronic cheating strategies, educators are beginning to fight back with their own anti cheating technologies, such as text-matching software, plagiarism checker, virtual students, and cheat proof tests, experts say. “Experts also say that if teachers hold open discussions, issue warnings, and present guidelines for taking tests and writing papers, kids will be more hesitant about cheating.” This explain, the more teachers and school staff tells students not to use, that curious students try to use phones.

In the article of “Students who use digital devices in class ‘perform worse in exams’, I can relate to because it talks about the causes of having a laptop or tablet in class and how it effects your grade. When I was in middle school everyone had laptops and every time the teacher would lecture us we wouldn’t pay attention everyone would be on Facebook, YouTube, etc. Then, the time when the quizzes and tests came up we would do poorly and we had no one to blame but ourselves. After that, when I went into high school we didn’t use any laptops, so I started to focus more when the teacher would lecture us. Then I started to see improvements on my tests so that’s when I started to realize that I work better when I don’t use any electronics during class.
Gina said that the school has tried to ban the use of cellphones in school but it has lead to some problems like parents complaining saying that they need to be able to contact their children whenever they can. So the argument can go both ways. Another distraction is laptops and ipads. Students tend to pretend that they are using them for classwork or homework but are really just watching netflix or doing something unrelated to school. When Gina was in high school, none of this was relevant.
For example, if everybody uses their smartphones or laptops in the classroom for learning purposes, it will help them significantly to be successful. However, a lot of students use their different technology for different purposes and most of them are not for learning purposes. Teachers also have a hard time teaching when a cell phone is constantly interrupting the class. The effect of this are students and teachers will not be able to continue on working lesson plans. Teachers don't want kids’ texting in class when they're trying to teach them important things. We should not bring cell phones in class because it can affect to their listening skills, first, it destruct students from the lessons, the students will keep texting and texting because the students is addicting of cell phones and they will never understand what is the lesson about. Second, the students could cheat on test; we all know that our society is more in high technology. There is Wi-Fi’s everywhere and also there are pocket Wi-Fi’s, broad bands, and load data’s that can use in surfing the net. So, if they take the test they can use their cell phones and cheat on the test.
