Receiving close to zero cost for healthcare services was something most women in America benefitted from when ex-President Barack Obama implemented the Affordable Care Act in 2010. Today, women fear that they will not be able to afford paying full price for necessary medication and services because President Donald Trump and his administration want to repeal and replace the ACA. Women’s healthcare focuses on gynecology and preventative care such as check ups, pap smears, cancer and STI screenings, and immunizations. Women’s health differs vastly from men’s health, so they need healthcare professionals who specialize in women's reproductive systems such as Gynecologists and Obstetricians. Taxes will increase if this law is not repealed and will cause families to pay more for their insurance. It will also restrict freedom from using health saving accounts. In Barrasso’s article “Why Obamacare must be repealed” he states, “If the health care law continues, hard working families all across America will have fewer choices, higher premiums, and less control. That’s exactly the tragedy we are fighting so hard to prevent” (Barrasso). If the ACA continues, it will make families have less options for their insurance thus, being forced to pay expensive taxes. To replace the ACA, the Republican Party has proposed a variety of plans. Those options are having insurances charge the elderly more and younger people less, an increase of private health savings accounts, a tax credit refund for those who do not have employer provided insurance, or reforming Medicare and Medicaid
