Students, everyday go to school, and go into classes for hours, to learn. Homework is unnecessary because, when homework is assigned each and every day, it becomes extremely stressful for the students, because students might have to stay up late to finish their work. Some students with other activities such as clubs or even sports make completing homework a problem. Having homework causes a disruption with students to be able to have free time and a life outside of school.
Down with Homework I agree with Alfie Kohn, when he states the strain that enormous amount of homework causes. But I disagree with his opinion in completely eliminating homework. We cannot eliminate homework because that will destroy the bridge that keeps students connected to their books after they leave school. I do however agree with Kohn in the recent, increase in homework children are getting.
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.
Some parents won't have to come home and stop what they are doing to help their kids with their math, reading, or english homework. Most parents have not had school in so many years that they are afraid to check over their kids homework to see if it is right, because they might get it wrong. But this does not mean that they should be given endless stacks of homework. By this, I mean when they are given a lot of homework for the next day, the student will gets upset and do not want to go to school because he doesn 't want punishment for what he couldn 't do. This is my personal opinion. Homework is a never-ending conflict at school, the students want less homework but the teachers have to give them the homework, so they can study at home. Why Students Shouldn’t Have Homework There are around 365 days in a year, and in a school year, there are around 180 days. From the beginning of the school year to the end, the most common thing that students least like, is homework. Coming home after a long day of school, then having responsibilities to do at home, not to mention some students have after school activities which take up around 2 hours if not more. Homework for students is a barrier that makes it difficult for them to have any kind of social life, or spend time with their family. There are many reasons why students shouldn’t have homework, during this essay people will learn why having homework isn’t helping the student, except making things more difficult for them.
If homework was eliminated then students might have a more positive attitude towards school. This would cause students to perform better academically since they think of school in positive ways and want to excelle. Students behavior would be confident and positive. Teachers would benefit from this since they would not have to worry about students being disrespectful or students not doing their homework.
