I choose a Super Bowl commercial put out by Budweiser depicting a feel-good message about drunk driving. The famous beer company traded in the Clydesdale horse for an adorable puppy to play the part of a dog who was left at home while his owner is out partying for the night. In this analysis, I address the intended audiences that the Budweiser commercial was catering to while addressing the subject, language, and predominate images used in this advertisement. For many years, companies have utilized advertising as a useful tool to promote their brands, convey a message, or sell their products. In today’s world, advertisements can be seen almost everywhere from enormous billboards along highways to a diminutive ads on a phone. But not all advertisements are successful. To convey a message, advertisements must contain rhetorical devices such as pathos, logos, and ethos. Florence Kelley Speech Florence Kelley conveys her message about child labor in her speech. Through the use of different rhetorical strategies, she shows us how each state’s child labor laws are different. Each state has their own law of how long the child should work and an age. The children are expected to be working while the adults are buying.

The issue of child labor has been around for centuries. Its standing in our world has been irrevocably stained in our history and unfortunately, our present. In the speech about Child Labor by Florence Kelley, Kelley writes about several little girls working in mills. However, she reveals her horrible feelings about child labor. Kelley’s use of repetition, imagery, and the appeals to logos and pathos reveal how children should be freed from working long and harsh nights because they are not adults. No other gender or age group has increased as rapidly as underage girls in the workforce.
