Imagine you are in a courtroom doing jury duty for a case. One table sits the characters from the book “The Scarlet Ibis.” Doodle and Brother sit together nervously wringing their hands together, while their mother, father, and Aunt Nicey sit in the audience directly behind them. At another table, the actors from the 1998 movie Simon Birch sit together. They sit content and ready to begin the trial.
Starting Tuesday January 17, 2017 – TODAY - all students must park in the upper student parking lot. This includes late arrival and early dismissal students. We are having to do this because students have taken over the front lot and our visitors do not have anywhere to park. If you are parked in the front parking lot today, talk to Officer Pearson as soon as you can.

Jeremy, Ready I’m going spastic: I really don’t need to drink.. or pot.. I think they calmed me down if anything. I always heard if you type in caps it means you are yelling… I don’t yell much in person because I feel if you want to hear what I have to say listen closely.
I am writing on behalf of the 8th grade class at Monticello Trails Middle School to, persuade you to take into consideration of writing a Good Night Kansas book. Not only would children in Kansas enjoy it but also children everywhere. We want you to realize that out of the 50 states, 46 of them have a book and Kansas is one state that doesn’t. This could be a learning opportunity for many children and could inform them of the different opportunities, activities, and history Kansas has to offer. Our 8th grade class has worked diligently and very hard, we would appreciate if you at least take our ideas into consideration.
When I was eight-year-olds, I was always told to read a book by my teachers and peers and I absolutely loathed it. One day I was handed an assignment, we were set off to check out a book from the library to read during reading time, which during this time I dreaded. After what seemed like hours, I decided on a Junie B. Jones book that caught my eye. After a brief reading session of one hour, when I finished the small chapter book, at once I decided to check out another one of the books in the series which lead to another one and so on. On average I devote about twenty hours of my time a week reading books.
Charges were filed yesterday by the Animal Defense League against a merchant by the name of Bob Jones who owns a local farm- and his stablehand. According to police reports, they are accused of strapping a donkey to a plow almost too heavy to be dragged by a bull and whipping it violently until it pulled the plow across the field. This abuse continued for several hours, until the donkey was practically on it’s deathbed. When asked, the merchant’s wife claims that he has always been a bit unwell. “It’s gotten especially bad in the past few weeks.
My wife Clementine decided we need these journals to document what we see on our travels to Oregon next month, however I honestly think they are a waste of time. At least little Brooke enjoys it. On her 6th birthday last year we got her a notebook that she 's been writing in so I think she 's ready for these journals. I remember three years ago when Clementine was 18 we would go on walks around our little town of bloomesdale. I shore do miss those times, but we haven 't gone on many walks since then, because she 's been cross with me about overruling her vote to go to Oregon.
After interviewing Ms. Jordan, the fourth-grade teacher and Mr. Chilton, I concluded that Jefferson Elementary School is a Partnership School. I came to this conclusion based off many factors. I rated Jefferson in five areas of partnership: building relationships, linking to learning, addressing difference, supporting advocacy, and sharing the power. The only area not in the partnership category was Supporting advocacy, which I will address last. Building a relationship among the parents and the school of Jefferson is amazing.
I feel more at home in Bethany Beach than I ever had in Arlington Heights. Over the entire summer we had actives and bible studies. One activity is a little game called Sadie Hawkins. Just about every girl in the youth program in Bethany and almost every guy in the Bethany youth program participate. The girls draw a name of one of the guys and that is who they will have to chase for the 24 hours preceding the drawing.
You may have recently heard of the story of Clifton and how he was not allowed to enter your park. You may have also heard of many other people that have encountered the same problem. Do you really think you are justified for doing such a thing, because you’re not? But, some people would say that it is right for them to deny service to African-americans. Predominantly there was no reason for Clifton to be denied entry to the park.
The theme of “Taking the Plunge” is to accomplish any challenge you have to overcome your fears on your own. In the beginning of the excerpt the narrator nervously rambling about anything to keep from losing nerve .” Do crows really always fly directly?” this distraction allows to continue his ascent up the diving platform. All the while constantly looking for another distraction to offset nerves, all the while continuing to accomplish the task at hand “you can’t see the bolts in this diving platform from the ground, which is good if your objective is to get more people to scale this crazy tower because those bolts are pockmarked and look wounded,”

After reviewing the PTA National Standards for Family-School Partnerships Assessment Guide, it is clear that multiple items in my Community & Family Engagement Inventory reflect effective examples of the various essential features included in the PTA Standards. Strengths and weaknesses of specific initiatives become more easily recognized after reviewing the standards as well. One strong example that reflects the essential features of one of the PTA Standards is our district’s Strategic Planning initiative. Standard 5 states that families should be “full partners in making decisions that affect their children at school and in the community” (PTA, 2008, Standard 5, p. 1). The Strategic Planning initiative involved the development of a focus
